government is not a monopoly, if representatives are chosen democratically. It is in fact the only weapon we have against monopoly (although in today’s world hardly ever used anymore because representatives are not chosen democratically anymore, but by the highest bidder)
All monopolies are bad, what you call the “good” stage is simply the delayed onset of the actual effects of the monopoly. True, things become a bit more orderly, but that’s like saying “fascism isn’t all bad, at least it makes the trains run on time”
