Very good, ´´We are entering the age of hyper-individuality, and the path to each person’s most significant accomplishments will demand a hyper-individualized approach.

Each of these accomplishments will be based on our own wants, needs, and desires at that specific moment in time.

In the end, it will be far less about the path we’ve chosen and far more about the results.´´

My how the worm has turned. The argument always used to be that people with a degree would earn more than people without a degree. But as an employer I have often turned away people with degrees because they have no relevance to the futures we are developing. So often people with real experience are far more valuable. Having said that, the right papers provide people with tools that are valuable if they can apply them. But these can often come from intensives or short courses selected specifically to meet a need.
So many people are taught outdated methodologies. These people often become safe in government jobs and as they get promoted, hire people or consultants with similar degrees. It's scary and boring going to ITS conferences and seeing these people present. It's even more scary knowing that they, together with politicians with a short time focus (how long they wish to stay in office) are holding us back.
On the other hand I'm seeing some really cool things like innovation hubs in New Zealand schools for children as young as 11 and 12. Those kids might be better placed to solve future problems than graduates, but of course the graduates won't listen to them because they are only kids and it would devalue their degrees. Meanwhile the disruptors, who as you said Thomas, are often dropouts, just make things happen, while the others wonder what happened. Getting off my soap box now:)
