It’s refreshing to see another techno-optimist expressing those viewpoints so plainly in article form. For example, out of the twelve quotes that you shared, number eleven is my favorite.

I agree wholeheartedly that Artificial Intelligence is our partner in building futures that we can’t fathom in the present moment. It’s an exciting time to be alive!

1. The pace of change today is the slowest you will see for the rest of your life.

2. AI and other technological advances are merely “shiny objects” and by themselves will not affect society. What does affect society is the shiny object’s ripple effects and the ripple effects of the ripple effects. At the end of every “ripple effect string” are always ethics, governance, and stratification issues.

3. The future arrives on the back of language. When we talk about the future, we are helping to create the future.

4. When we talk about the future, we talk about 10-15 years out. That keeps us from extrapolation planning which is traditional strategic planning.
