I also cover this issue in my own book, specifically, the issue that laws are getting more complex because of special provisions for political donors. Then these complex laws with intentional obfuscations to hide their intent in turn spawn even more lengthy regulations.

In my fictional book, the solution to help is a law that requires any law more than 100 pages to be read out loud in Congress, essentially, a self-filibuster. It’s also related to another topic, that many of these laws are not even completely read by Congress members. If they had to feel a bit more of that hurt that might help too. I also support your solutions as well.

Big laws hide loopholes and create much bigger regulations. If the Constitution were 1,000 pages, there would be no America. States would revolt under the burden of all that complexity.”
