Quote: " Despite the fact that education is a universal human right", end of quote.

Education is NOT an universal right, just a global right and a fantasy of dreamers.
Within 8 years all human & animal & plant live will be gone because of the destructions of crops by rain and heat.

I suggest, go to bed and dont come out and keep on dreaming.

Rafael, which society? And aging one? We are looking at that future with our views of the present. Make no mistake, if over population will be bad for us, so will underpopulation. It could lead to the demise of our species

I support Oskar's conclusions. The article misrepresents the reality we're living, as if we had infinite resources to keep on growing for ever. It's as the choice most families have to do now. How many kids should we plan to have? Many in my age group in retirement chose not tom have any children, as I did. What's wrong with having more space and resources for society?

According to the UN’s latest study, by 2100 the 'counties' with the most people in the world will be:

    India – 1,450,000

... so that's only over a million?!!!

The author of this article recommended us to think again. I followed his advice and came to the conclusion that on a finite planet population growth can't go on indefinitely. I don't know what the optimum number of people on our planet is, but I tend to rather take the risk to suffer having to live on an "underpopulated" than an overpopulated earth.

In the long term less people means more space for everyone, including animal species. less pollution, less CO2 in the air, less stress on resources, drinking water. Abundance, of course, is bad for an economy based on planned obsolence and the burning of fossil fuels. Whoever possesses monopolies today will not be be pleased.
